Choosing a Delivery Date

Now I guess that the official line will be that all delivery dates are estimates but when placing an order Tuesday lunchtime I selected for the items to be delivered on Thursday as at that time there would be no one at home on Wednesday. But my order got dispatched Tuesday evening and was delivered first thing (8am) this morning (Wednesday). So I guess my point is, why let people pick a delivery date if you, or I guess CityLink, dont stick to it?

Sometimes they'll attempt an early delivery. If you weren't there, they'd probably have delivered the following day as scheduled.

You might have popped up on one of their routes and they decided to give it a shot.

Can you please provide me with the invoice number so I can look into this because it should not really be happening now with the new dispatch systems that have been implemented.

The fact it arrived early wasnt a major issue as luckily plans that were made for that day got cancelled so someone was home, but next time I, or someone else doing the same thing, might not be so lucky.
