    Free carriage disappointment

After clicking a link I saw in a random thread about free delivery for hexus users, I thought great! Wish I'd saw it before spending £1500+ in the last couple of weeks at scan spread over a number of deliveries.

Not realising there were rules which are not enforced when ordering, I ordered an 8 pin adapter cable for my PSU only to find my order cancelled this morning and told I have to phone up and add carriage to complete the order.

Made to pay £5 delivery on a £4 CABLE ffs and after spending £1500 at Scan in the last couple of weeks. Great customer relations you've got going there!

I'm very disappointed. Service and satisfaction down the drain.

    Re: Free carriage disappointment

The rules do state it is a minumum £20 exc vat for free delivery. http://forums.hexus.net/showthread.php?t=72583

You could have just bought the adapter elsewhere where you can pay for cheaper postage by royal mail.

    trusz,

I cant see what the issue is here, the email which advised that the order wasnt eligible for free delivery and also advised that if you wished we could either add items to make it eligible for the free delivery then this could be arranged.

If you wish to reinstate the order - with the delivery charge then I would advise you to contact the sales team and they can resurrect the order and add the delivery charge of £5.99 + VAT

    Re: Free carriage disappointment

If you can't understand why I'm slightly miffed then I'd advise you not to bother applying for any PR jobs.

I was made aware of the rules by email, told again over the phone and it's been posted twice in this thread. Hell, does some one want to copy and paste the damn things in here just to make sure I get it now?

....and yes, why not spend more money on items I don't need just to get some free carriage. Are you in sales?

I've already had the carriage charge added as there aren't many other options.

Rules and automated systems. Just a pile of "computer says no". It doesn't make customers feel looked after. Fair enough if it was a one off order but from my order history you can see that it's not.

Enough of my moaning. Work to be done.

    Have a nice day

    Re: Free carriage disappointment

The rules regarding the free delivery are there for all to see mate. Very straight forward. Worth reading the FAQ etc etc when joining a forum that way you get to see all the nice bits and bobs.

    You can't blame Scan!!

    Re: Free carriage disappointment

    trusz,

All the requirements for the free carriage are clearly available on the forums, in numerous places including the guide on how to set up free carriage on your account which can be viewed here:

    http://forums.hexus.net/showthread.php?t=51925

Its nothing personal as all orders under the £20 limit get the same email back, however as this has now been resolved and as you have been made clear of the requirements there should be no issues for any further orders you may wish to place.

    Re: Free carriage disappointment

We have a £20 ex limit for a reason and to keep the scan2hexus free delivery offer we need to set a limit so it is worth while for Hexus users and Scan.

    Re: Free carriage disappointment

Ok, you're really not getting it. Lets see if you can understand this because at the moment it seems as if you can't see past the ends of your rule book loving noses.

This is NOT about there being rules. I understand the need for a minimum £20 order and I see from other posts now that people have been taking the mick. There's a need for customers to have respect for the company too but I'm not having a go about there being a rule! The rule is not unfair but the circumstance was disappointing. Do you get that now??

    Now read carefully...

I've made about 4 or 5 orders in the last week or two, paying carriage for all of them totalling at around £50+vat so it's not like you haven't made a decent amount of money from my purchases? If I'd have known about this offer earlier then I wouldn't have paid that. So trying to haggle a £6 fee from one order is not going to put Scan out of pocket.

The fact I didn't have knowledge of the rules is neither your fault or mine. They are there, I missed them at the time.

Having my order cancelled after being allowed to place it was a bit annoying. I was made aware of the rules. I accept those rules from now. It would just be nice to see a bit of customer care. By seeing my order history and using a little common sense you can see that it would be no skin off any one's nose. By keeping me happy I'd be much more likely to make regular orders in future. I benefit and so does Scan. Not much of an argument there.

Have a day off will you!!!!
Why would they send a £4 item with free carriage???? No-one would.
If you missed the offer when you bought your other stuff then too bad.......you shouldve looked harder.
If you missed the offer then you havent either posted enough, not browsed/posted here enough. If thats the case, you shouldnt get free carriage anyway.

The rules are clear...you broke them.....order cancelled.
I can't see your gripe tbh.

So what???? Your post count has ONLY JUST reached 30.
That says that you are hardly an 'ACTIVE' member here. If you bothered to read the rules on free carriage it states that you must post 3 times a week at least and be 'ACTIVE' here (which you clearly are not unless its to moan).

    Re: Free carriage disappointment

    trusz,

As stated you have to have 25 posts to be eligible for the free carriage offer therefore as all you previous orders were placed before you reached the 25 post mark you wouldnt have got free carriage on your previous orders either.

Obviously all the requirements for the carriage offer are clearly labelled on the Hexus forums therefore we really can make the requirements any clearer.

Anyway as the order as been resolved I really dont see the issue anymore.

You have placed an order for under £20 therefore carriage has been added

All your previous orders was before you had 25 posts therefore carriage charges were correctly applied.

Whether you pay for the carriage, or you get free carriage via Hexus does not affect the time in which deliveries are made.

I use the free carriage and on several occasions I have received it the next day.

    Keep it up Scan
