Can I check these for compatibility..

    The RAM:

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=501253

    The Mobo:

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=636482

Now, you'll note that the mobo goes up to 800MHz, while the ram states it goes at 1142MHz, so you'll straight away say they won't go together.

Thing is, I'm planning on building a very high machine and ordering everything from scan. This will include water cooling all round, except for the PSU and RAM.

I found a ram cooler for corsair ram, but it's only designed for dominator modules. I'd prefer to get 8GB for the mobo, but the ram cooler wouldn't be as efficient for the standard modules, as it would for dominator modules. Anyways...

The recommended ram for the mobo, is the above stated corsair dominator. Before I finish my shopping list, I wanna know the score on wether the mobo can use the ram or not.

    Many thanks.

the ram cooler u talk of will cool all types of memory fella, its a simple clip on over the memory slots and if it clears the dominator I cannot think of many types it will have probs with, I run one in mine, cooling two non-dominator dimms, works very well, bit noisey at top speed tho so mine is controlled by othermeans

You will see very little benefit (if any) in running that ram in that board at default speeds.

Why not save yourself a small fortune and order :-

    2GB (2x1GB) Corsair TwinX DDR2 XMS2 Dominator, PC2-8500

    its about half the price.

I belive were due replacment stock shortly as well

    Regards

Re: Can I check these for compatibility..

I've picked some normal XMS2 DDR2 ram now instead.

The only thing that I'm concerned about the system I want to build, is the space between an 8800GTX gfx card and the psu in an isotope case. I want to use water cooling, but I'm wondering if there's room between the psu and gfx card for the piping. It looks like there wouldn't be.

That aside, I do have a question regarding the isotope cases:

Can I get an isotope case, WITHOUT the water reservoir, OR is it easily removed if not?

I ask because I plan on using zalman gear for the water cooling, the Reserator XT to be precise. It has its own reservoir, pump and radiator all in the same unit, so i wouldn't need the pre-installed water reservoir in an isotope case, as it'll just be in the way/excess and unused kit.

    Cheers.
