Scythe Ninja Plus Rev B Questions

I'm doing a PC transplant due to a damaged case.

I thought I'd also update my CPU cooler / fan in the process to something good away from the intel stock.

    Questions:

1.) is the Scythe Ninja Plus Rev B still regard as one of the top / if not the top cooler for a quad core chip
2.) Can someone offer a recommendation on a good fan to hang off it to offer good cooling with a low noise trade off.
3.) will this giant heat sync fit in the coolermaster Coolermaster Mystique RC-632B, or would I be better off with a ninja mini for example.

totally open top options depending on your response on the questions above.

    thanks.

If you can wait a while, Scan will be getting the Thermalright Ultima-90 in. Large difference in size to all 'heavyweights' while still managing to out perform most of them (exception of the Thermalright Extreme). Reasonable price, but you'd need a 120mm fan on top of that. Noctua 1200 rpm for silence would be my pick.

Not much point though if you need it now.

I can wait, I'm in no rush, everything is working fine currently, I've just got my new case knocking around and thought I'd do it this weekend.

Scan - what sort of timescales are you looking at for the Thermalright Ultima-90

I'm happy to look at all options

Thermalright are on the slow boat now so its just a case of waiting really.

As soon as they appear and get booked in I'll pop a message up on here to let you know so you can all try to undo Dan's work on the webserver

thats fine, thanks for the update.

Just looking at options, people have always pointed at the scythe Ninja, and the actual size of a Thermalright Ultima-90 doesn't appear massivly different against the Ninja.

I'll have a ponder and see what happens with this stock coming in.

Is Carlh's quote Of: "Currently we have been told that we should have the Thermalright products by the end of November" still relevant Lee?

Ultima-90 is 13cm high, 12cm wide, 4cm depth - it's the depth where the Ultima does the damage compared to the rest. It really brings the volume down.
