I have an Asus P5N32-E Sli Plus motherboard. Is this able to run the new 45nm Penryn Core processors... the latest bios update supports FSB 1333.

    Thanks,

    Re: Intel Core™2 Extreme QX9650

I want one just for the unlocked multi, I have a P35 board that cant even do 1600FSB so the lower clocked 1333MHz FSB chips wouldnt overclock much at all on my mobo :/

The trouble with the top of the line CPU's is that you really do need to get top of the line for everything else to see the real benefits across the board

It's not like you can buy one of these and pair it up with 512MB of RAM and onboard graphics to run Crysis

The average person that would shell out that sort of cash on the processor probably realises that, else it would be an utter waste.
In the internets, no one can hear you sarcasm.

LOL its kind of stating the obvious really, I doubt anyone is stupid enough to spend £669 on a cpu and attempt to use onboard graphics and 512mb ram to run Crysis

Hey does anyone know when something like that will be released? I might put off building my new pc and wait if its going to be in a few weeks or something.. i guess i could wait until jan 08, but just as long as its not going to be like 6 months!

On the topic of QX9650 though, what sort of overclock can you get out of this thing with air cooling? Because its 45nm and less power/heat can it can get to 4gHz on air cooling ?
