Your post here.
In particular; "In fact the only service we do guarantee would be a Saturday delivery,".

ChrisP already said you could take delivery tomorrow at an alternative address.I order a fair amount over the Internet and generally arrange to have one day in a week when I have things to do at home so that I am there to accept deliveries.
Also, you may well order from many online stores. I would bet a pound to a penny that if one of their deliveries was late they wouldn't bother to inform you.
You have a forum here to air your views and get answers.
Scan have telephone support that isnt expensive, is answered quickly and resolve issues well.
Can the other stores you use boast that??? Nope.......
I understand its frustrating (it has happened to me aswell). I probably gauge a service on the care i receive when something goes wrong though. Not when all is well. That seperates the good from the bad imo.
Would it be possible for scan to reserve the fund from the credit card instead of taking payment? If I was only charged proper when the item dispatches I'd feel a lot happier about the frequent delays I've had due to lack of stock (despite ordering when in stock is shown.. SCANs claims of having stock is another story though ) if I knew I wasn't having to pay for the delay.
&roo the part you have quoted is part of a larger quote: -
I prefer posting in quick rpely mode and often dont look use the quote function to quote text.I Understand you have requested your order to be upgraded to pre 9am delivery free of charge, unfortunately this is not feasible as you have not paid for a guaranteed service, I would understand if you had paid for a next day delivery but you have not.
In fact the only service we do guarantee would be a Saturday delivery, if you had paid for this service level then we would of course refund the extra carriage paid for the Saturday delivery as we feel it only fair to refund a customer for a service level they have paid for but not received

Thanks for your response Chris. As an ageing 2 finger typist it's very unusual for me to bother to post in forums, I only did so in this instance because I care and was deeply disappointed having had two orders in succession, "delayed due to unexpected volumes in our warehouse", given the excellent service I've had from Scan in years past. Maybe it's the contrast and my expectations that made it worse.
It seems that your current business model of "estimated despatch" dates does not meet my needs and I'll have to reconsider how I get my parts in the future.
I have now cancelled the order (000E980597) by email to CS but I'd appreciate it if you ensure that cancellation takes place.
(One small point point on the CS email cancellation process. There is a box at the bottom of the mail that you tick if it's a cancellation, I assume this flags the email up quickly at your end. If the posting screen comes back un-sent because there is a problem with the info provided this box is cleared and has to be ticked again, you might want to change this.)
To end this on an upbeat note: One of the fondest memories I have of Scan is from the 'pre-Internet' Micro Mart days when we used to go to the small building in Farnworth. They had white boards on the wall that they put the offers on with felt pen. Written across the top of one of the boards was; "You've dealt with the Cowboys, now deal with the Indians." That really tickled me at the time.
Farewell. (Edit: Probably a bit dramatic!)

Beat me too it, whilst we are posting, your order had been completed thus an automated e-mail sent. I have killed the delivery so nothing can be dispatched. Your order will be re-stocked and a credit for the full amount processed
Please disregard any further e-mail updates..
Best Regards
One final question from me. If when placing an order one were to select a date one or two later than the earliest date offered would this increase the likelihood of the items dispatched on the accepted date?

&roo ,internet shopping is not for you.why don't you go in a shop (if you found one) and pay the full price!
