    Silverstone Kublai KL01

    Hi guys.

After looking at reviews of this case, it looked like there were issues with my motherboard (Abit IP35 pro) because it's got 90 degree sata ports on the motherboard, which the HDD cage interferes with. I e-mailed silverstone and they said the way around this would be to move the HDD cage around. My sole concern really is whether everything will fit satisfactorily.

Under the distance selling regs would I be elligible to return such a case if the items did not fit together? I have 5 HDDs you see, so quite a pain. I'm not sure whether to just get a Lian-Li PC7 instead, but it's just so old (and you don't sell them?!). I've considered the sharkoon as well but the 'economy' and 'value' labels are a bit off putting, and they don't have any reviews. Mainly what I'm looking for is a well built case that doesn't weigh a tonne and can store some hard drives. My plan is to sell the P180 to a mate, get a cheapish case that I can carry, then put my asus p5w system in my old sonata, then through 2008 I will systematically change my system so I end up with the asus system having 4 hard drives and my gaming system having 2. Then I will probably use the asus system as a fileserver.

Sorry for a bit of a ramble, anyway. The stacker looks ok but it's pretty heavy still, I was hoping for something 8.5 kilos max really.

    Any update on this Phil?

For my concerns, see this page:

Hmm, it also says with the board that the front usb / audio leads don't fit either because they're too short. It seems it's not to be - really it's the only 1st class case you stock that isn't silly priced. (well, by that I mean Lian-Li / Silverstone)

When will I find a case to fit my requirements I don't know.

Really sorry for not coming back to you sooner

Being honest your really really gonna struggle with that board in that case, We are currently testing that case with the IP35 (none PRO) and it seems ok (the SATA connections are not on a right angle) however the front panel cables are a tad on the short side.

I have just bought myself the P182 Gun Metal Black and im loving it, its a tad more expensive and weighs a ton but its all good

Have you considered Coolermaster CM-690 Dominator i personally dont like the looks but its a really good case for the £££.

    Best Regards

    Re: Silverstone Kublai KL01

I've got the P180 which I love but I go to regular LANs and it's breaking my back!

I've just been looking at that case this evening, I think it's just stolen the top spot cheers for pointing it out!
