Gigabyte MOBO

Just wondering if anyone could please tell me as to why the newly released Gigabyte GA-X38-DQ6 is now longer sold by Scan. Even Microdirect have discontinued it.
I am possibly looking into purchasing one and wondered if there a problem with it I should know about.

X48 will have DDR2 support too, all depends if mobo makers decide to release DDR2 variants

Looks like they will be doing a model for ddr2 and the 'T' model for ddr3 like last time.

Hrm, looks like the differences with the DS5 version will be less than last time. power regulation and audio chip are same this time round, so the only difference I can see is having only one LAN port.

I haven't seen any many reports that say DDR2 will be commonly supported? Let's hope your right and they are readily available

As I'm running only a Q6600 at 1066mhz and don't overclock I don't see the real benefit of the X48 over the X38 as it will will continue to use the same ICH9/R chipset and will probably be dearer

Anyhow, when are we likely to see the X48 arrive?

I think I know the reason now... its to do with the 45nm CPU's and P35 & X38 needs a BIOS update to support them?

Have noticed that they are now listed on Scan's website. Both the X48 and the X48T by Gigabyte.
What I don't understand is why the X48 is listed as using DDR3.....is this correct?
Based on the X38 and X38T surely the X48 is DDR2.

Anyhow, when are we likely to see the X48 arrive?

Still would like to know please if poss.

Yikes, a bit pricey. I was hoping they would cost about the same as the x38's as they are pretty much the same.
