    SATA to CF card adapter

Hi, are scan going to get any SATA to Compact Flash adapter cards.
Also the new SANDISK extreme IV CF cards to go with them.

A poor mans SSD i know, but 300 mb/s CF cards should turn up next year.

There are also adapters so these can be used as replacement laptop HDD.

    They would be good too.

    I thank you.

Re: SATA to CF card adapter

Beware. By default Sandisk CF cards are configured to be see as removable devices, you cannot install windows on them in this state. There are hard to find tools that can change the flag to being a fixed disk though.

Extreme IV cards hit 40MB/sec, so thats already 320mbit/sec. The Ducati line also go up to 45MB/sec, or 360mbit/sec.

Still waiting for them to get IDE to CF I think? Would be nice if they can get a range of these niche adapters to complement their range!

Yes he could do that, but it would go unnoticed amongst all the 'can we have diff memory' posts

I believe that thread should be culled every now and then, there's no need for 49 pages.

Re: SATA to CF card adapter

Yes it needs thinning out, or a subsection of its own where each recommendation has a seperate thread, its so hard to pick some things up in amongst replies and memory and lian li case, etc etc

All the Scan CS guys are regulars so will spot if something new is in there, they aren't going to go through the whole thread to get to the new posts.

Re: SATA to CF card adapter

well yes but i also meant easier for us more casual contributors to see & respond to whats been suggested, then the replies and arguments per product will stay in each product thread not bloat the main topic, if that makes any sense

Re: SATA to CF card adapter

The problem is that it is too unwieldly for people to bother reading through when they have a *new* product idea.

Edit; Sorry, ignore me, I seem to have hijacked the thread from the op.
