Scan Isotope Ix - watercooling or 2nd hard drive?

    Hi,

Looking at the configuration options available at:
Slightly munged URLs as it thinks i'm spamming.

    3xs.scan.co.uk/ConfigureSystem.asp?SystemID=715
    versus
    3xs.scan.co.uk/ConfigureSystem.asp?SystemID=758

I see one is watercooled, while the other has a 2nd hard drive option - is there only enough room for one or the other?

I've got no interest in overclocking it, just like the case design and want it running as quietly as possible, but am likely to want a 2nd hard drive in it!

Also the 2nd URL gives a default of no graphics card - is there an onboard one?

    Thanks in advance.

This was a question to scan if anyone can answer - Are the options for the Isotope Ix either watercooling or a second hard drive, but not both, on purpose or just the way the configurator has been built?

If the options are there to change then you should be able to have it in the computer, I have checked these and they both are VGA configurable and allow you to have 2 hard drives.

Sorry for the delay in reply

    Regards

I can't PM anyone till i've made a certain amount of posts it seems - doesn't seem too helpful for a support forum when most people are just gonna register when they need support, guess needed for spam prevention though..

I guess i need to phone in to get it configured as suggested then, as the URL above (3xs.scan.co.uk/ConfigureSystem.asp?SystemID=715) doesn't have an option for 2nd hard drive.

You just select quantity x 2 or you can purchase with one the add one from the normal hardware section by adding the Scon Code/Link Number.

Re: Scan Isotope Ix - watercooling or 2nd hard drive?

Ok i'm looking at a base configuration of
    3xs Systems

Added to this a few part choices brought over from 3xs Systems :

Use selected 500Gb drive as storage, below as system drive.
    150 Gb Western Digital WD1500ADFD Raptor Enterprise, SATA150, 10000 rpm, 16MB Cache, NCQ, 4.6 ms (£102.09)

    Use Samsung SH-S203D/BEBN 20x DVD±R, 12x DVD±DL, DVD +RW x8/-RW x6, SATA, Black, OEM (£14.75) instead of the LG PATA one.

I'd very much like an internal WLAN card instead of the USB one - as long as the onboard sound has optical out, is it possible to get an internal WLAN card instead of the Soundblaster card?

Please confirm if all that is possible, and the price for it

Also i'm open to any suggestions on replacement parts to make it run any quieter!

I think if you want to modify the system so much I feel you should contact Sales you can ask for me if you wish and I can talk you through the specification.
