    Q9450 Date still the 19th?

    Hi,

Just wondering if Scan can confirm that the date for the 9450's is still the 19th March? Just that I have seen it on another site saying they are due on the 10th? Probably just the other site trying to drum up business but woth checking as I have one on order

    Cheers!!

Hope it is the 10th since im going away on the 20th for a week and will need to delay delivery if its not out before then. Not to mention my poor 4000+ amd chip is getting rather warm lately and I need a new toy to play with.

I pre-ordered mine the other day, i do still hope that they are coming in on the 19th March. I've waited nearly 2 months to build my new PC...

I wouldnt be suprised if the other place has them listed as the 10th just to get more pre-orders in from people who think they`ll get them earlier than places like scan.

I would love to know if this is going to be quicker and better at OC than the Q6600.

Somehow though, i dont think it will be.

Re: Q9450 Date still the 19th?

500x8 is doable on quite a few boards nowadays, so 4Ghz should be easy enough for a Q9450. The real question is will the chips live for very long? There have been a lot of reports of quick degradation and even dead chips even with only minimal increases in vcore after just a few days.

Re: Q9450 Date still the 19th?

But haven't people been putting the same sort of volts through them as the old 65nm chips.
I don't think that it will be worth upgrading from a Q6600 tbh as you are probably looking at purchasing a £100 motherboard to get the best out of these chips.
I have also found it quite strange that we don't have any great hype over these new quads and reviews are a bit thin on the ground so make of that what you will ...

And now they have no expected ETA on the Q9450 which was to be expected but they have suckered in alot of members into thinking they would get them today.

This processor (Q9450) should work on a Asus Maximus Formula with a BIOS update right? I hope so, because i already bought the motherboard...
