Western Digital's 320GB Single Platter Confusion

From What I've heard. Western Digital has 2 types of WD3200AAKS. The old with 2 platters, and the new with 1 platter. Although this will make no difference to most people. Others may buy this thinking that it is the single platter version. WD have refused to exchange older versions for newer versions when people make this mistake. I would just like to check with you guys if you know which version you have. Or if you have a mix supply of old and new.

Re: Western Digital's 320GB Single Platter Confusion

They really should add it into the marketing blurb these days, as it's what a lot of consumers buy on (high density platters). Apart from press releases and review websites there is seldom such information found on retail packaging and consequently retailers / etailers. If scan could beat their competition to displaying this information they could be onto another winner (as like when they advertised what stepping CPUs were).
