Unless you're in desperate need, I'd hang fire on the 8800 GTS m8 as new cards from both Nvidia and ATI are due for release in mid June.

    Re: ETA on Pre-Order items

I'm afraid I'm in desperate need! I need the above two components to finish my build!

I've purchased a waterblock for a G92 GT/GTS so that limits my choice. I'm mainly gaming at 1280 x 1024 so think the card will be more than adequate.

Ah ok. If it's any help my bro bought the Asus 8800GTS from Scan a couple of weeks ago and he's more than happy. Why the BFG or is it the extended warranty that appeals to you?

    Re: ETA on Pre-Order items

The BFG does have a good warranty and I want to get the best GTS card I can for the money. I'm only a casual gamer but want a card that will cope with all the latest games at full detail (ableit at 1280x1024). The BFG is factory overclocked so givves me some headroom over and above a standard GT or GTS.

I understand that the OC'ed GTS outperforms a 9800GTX and uses less power doing so.

    Re: ETA on Pre-Order items

Our website system is very transparent in that if we had any dates for the items listed, they would be displayed accordingly.

As such, we are just awaiting more information regarding delivery dates from the respective suppliers or manufacturers. Once we have this information and it has been inputted into the purchasing system, the website will automatically update.

    I hope this information helps.

    Best Regards,

    Re: ETA on Pre-Order items

Depending on the rest of your system specs a standard GTS will play all current games, with the exception of Crysis, on high levels of detail especially at that resolution.

aha, I think you've hit the nail on the head. I want to be able to play current and forthcoming games comfortably at 1280x1024 and so feel the BFG OC'ed card is definitely the way to go.

I'm surprised that a GTS would bottleneck with Crysis @ 1280 on high detail. I think I will have to buy that game just to see how good the graphics really are!

    Re: ETA on Pre-Order items

    Lee,

Thanks for the update. I have pre-orderd the VelociRaptor. When it does arrive will the order ship or will I receive notice that it is ready to order. I'd like to add extra items to the order if possible.

    Re: ETA on Pre-Order items

the bfg card is good, performs pretty well on crysis imo. I can get it with decent frames at that res with 2/4x aa everything high(except shadows i think) or 1680x1050 , playable.

    Re: ETA on Pre-Order items

I see that the VelociRaptor is due in today. I've pre-ordered it but need to know what happens next. Will be item ship or do I have the chance to add items to the order. Hoping someone at scan can confirm.

    Re: ETA on Pre-Order items

You can still add items, when it is in stock the system will mail you if its a reminder. I you have truely pre-orded it (Paid) then to add items you will have to call Customer Services to add to it.

I recomond that you buy a evga card 9800gtx and use the evga trade up to upgrade the card when the new ones come out, all you will need to pay extra if it is any more
