    Re: Thermalright TRUE Black 120

it looks like a very good cooler, but is the zalman 9700 nt any good compared to this?, i understand that you can put on any 120mm fan to it, has anyone had any experience with these 2 coolers?
on the thermalright can the fan speed be controlled automatically by the MB as with the 9700nt?

also would this cooler fit on the new asus intel p5q deluxe MB? (thermalright)

    Re: Thermalright TRUE Black 120

As for a comparison the Thermalright with a good 120mm fan(silent and efficient) is much quieter and yes the fan can be controlled by the motherboard. The thermalright is also a lot better at keeping the chipset cool so when cooling quads you will notice a sizeable gap between the two but dual core cooling would be pretty much the same with the thermalright slightly lower in temp.

I'm not sure about it fitting on that board but I don't notice anything that would conflict with the heatsink imo. From the pictures I think the heatsink will clear the motherboard sinks.

    Re: Thermalright TRUE Black 120

i think i will go for the thermalright extreme or the new black coated in nikel.
Also can anyone recommend a good 120mm fan.
I have noticed that on the ture black edition there are 2 fan connectors for 120mm fans, for a pull and push airflow! seems pretty good!

I have also noticed after doing some reviews that the thermalright base is not turely flat, its more concave! if you just google the model it will show screen shots taken with a ruler against the surface.

We save £6 on shipping because of the care@hexus shipping offer so its basically the same tbh.

    Re: Thermalright TRUE Black 120

We've just recieved our sample of the TRUE 120 black the other day and as such it's now being tested.

I've spoken to the purchasing person responsible for looking after the TR equipment and he stated it will be about a month before we see any retail units available.

    I hope this information helps

    Best Regards,
