Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 - Retail (66R-02266) - Scan?

    Hey Scan.

Do you have any plans for getting this O/S in and on your website:

Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 - Retail (66R-02266)

You guys currently sell the original release (66R-00020) but it is £331, thats a bit out of my range. The O/S i mentioned above has a selling price of around £190 on some websites (Amazon, Overclockers), so i was wondering if you guys would be getting this in?

Id much rather go through you when i have the cash available after buying my components, but if you have no plans to sell it then its no biggie.

    Thanks

    Ian

    Thanks

Hopefully you guys get it in sometime around when im going to be buying it, be probably a month or so. My plans for my new PC...

Order 2gb of memory on the 13th June
Order motherboard and processor on the 27th June
Order Windows Vista Ultimate on the 11th June

Thats my intended plans anyways. Theyre subject to change haha. I may buy another 2gb of memory before i get Windows Vista, and possibly a soundcard.

Just a thought - you won't be starting the new build until at least 2 weeks after the memory arrives so you would miss out on the DOA period (I think) although given the reliability of memory nowadays that shouldn't be a problem.
With respect to the memory - if you are going to use the 64 bit version of Vista I would definitely recommend 4GB of RAM bought as 2 x 2GB sets to give room for future expansion - also a possible advantage as some boards get a bit difficult with 4 x 1GB and you may have to reduce the memory timings (it may happen automatically).

its a good choice, but if you have the money 4 x 1gb sticks would give better performance
Pittsburgh steelers, maimi hurricanes, Wisconsin badgers, Bristol Rovers, Man United - thats right i love sports

Re: Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 - Retail (66R-02266) - Scan?

    How does that work?

I thought the less sticks, the better the performance.

    Either way, i ordered

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=766626

....today. And its on its way. Its 4gb, and the latency is still 4-4-4-12, the same as the 2gb (2x 1gb) sticks i was going to get.

    Either way im happy
