    Asus P5E-VM HDMI iG35

    The Asus P5E-VM HDMI iG35
Cant find this on the website
Just a couple of questions regarding the above board.

    1) Does the audio play through the hdmi port or onboard sound or either?

    2) Will the onboard proccesing be enough to output HD material via the HDMI port, or will i need a GFX card?

    Thanks guys

    1) Not sure. But I guess it will as otherwise there is no point in putting hdmi over dvi
    2) No. You will need at least ~2.2ghz core2 or ~2.4ghz pentium dual core to play HD with CPU. Or you can buy any modern ATI graphics card

    1) Does the audio play through the hdmi port or onboard sound or either? Either, I currently have it through my tv over HDMI

    2) Will the onboard proccesing be enough to output HD material via the HDMI port, or will i need a GFX card? Should be fine with a decent processor as per Sim's suggestions, as it doesn't have acceleration on all formats

    Thanks guys
There are very good threads over on www.avsforum.com withing the computer section on this board and another decent thread on www.avforums.com Can't link directly to these as work blocks my access

I believe that the upcoming G45 chipset boards would be a better bet though and it may be better to wait until they arrive
