Was about to place a big order last night, but...
My GFX that I had chosen disappeared from Scan.co.uk! I did try emailing info[at]scan.co.uk to ask what happened but I was greeted with a reply email saying "Delivery Status Notification (Failure)"
The item that disappeared was LN22138 (512MB BFG Tech 9800 GTX, PCI-E 2.0, Mem 2200MHz, GDDR3, GPU 675MHz, 128 Cores, 2x DL DVI/HDTV).
Any ideas if and when this card will be making a return?
I would post a run down of my rig that I'm gonna build but I can't post URLs yet....
Cheers for ya help lads

Yeah I know about the HD4850 but ATi drivers pretty much suck for ET:QW - and thats all I play. Oh well, I supose I can hold off for the 9800 GTX+.
So no one knows what happened to the card in question?

It probably just performs slightly slower that's all, for the price even if it performs slightly slower its a MUCH better buy.
Edit: Ahem... why does this show the card only just being beaten by the 8800 Ultra and performing exactly the same as the 9800GTX in the very game you play>http://guru3d.com/article/amd-ati-ra...-powercolor/12

Just been looking around for it, and it looks like it's been discontinued. :( Oh well, I\'ll wait till the 9800GTX+ arrives to see how it fairs with the HD4850.

wait whatever as the 9800 gtx/+ is having a price drop. having said that your better off getting an ATI 4850/70

Re: Was about to place a big order last night, but...
the 4850 i dont think as good as the gtx9800, it around the same performance as the 8800GTS 512MB

8800GTS is basically the 9800GTX just so you know... they use the exact same GPU and shaders with slightly differing memory chips(and the GPU is clocked slightly higher but the GTS can easily be clocked to GTX frequencies as its the same chip). Performance difference between them depends on whether a game likes faster memory or whether it relies more on GPU performance(obviously memory intensive games will do slightly better on the 9800GTX).
And if you haven't read all the reviews on the HD4850 they say its the same if not faster performance than the 9800GTX... Have a read and find out for yourself> http://www.guru3d.com/article/amd-at...d--powercolor/
