    gpu stock

    Hello all

Hopefully someone can help with my dilemma at the begining of this year 2008 i built a gaming system for myself and the gpu card i chose at the time was a xfx geforce 8800 gt alpha dog 512MB DDR3 XXX factory overclocked.

Would anyone know if scan are going to get anymore of these cards in stock as i'm considering sli and i'm a little concerned about compatibilty if i use a differant card of simular specs? i look forward to any insight you guys/girls can give many thanks. Vic

    Re: gpu stock

    VictorE,

I'm sorry but that particular model of card is now end of life and as such will not be back in stock.

However, in order to provide optimal symmetric scaling, Nvidia's SLI Technology requires the NVIDIA GPU to match. For example, a GeForce 7800 GTX must be paired with another GeForce 7800 GTX.

Likewise, a GeForce 6600 GT must be paired with another GeForce 6600 GT. However, using the latest Release of Graphics Drivers, which can be found at www.nvidia.com , NVIDIA GPUs sold by different manufacturers can be used together in SLI Mode. For example, a GeForce 7800 GT from vendor ABC can be matched with a GeForce 7800 GT from vendor XYZ.

    I hope this information helps

    Best Regards,

    Re: gpu stock

just to add, make sure you buy one with similar overclocks(or do it yourself) because it uses the slower card. I remember zotac do a decent AMP edition card and thats maxed overclocked iirc.
