A low profile network card that is actually low profile
I'm trying to order some low profile gigabit network cards and I'm having some problems
I ordered two of the following from scan
http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=766705
However when they turned up they were full height.
Was it just the ones I ordered or is the description wrong?
I really need to get some ordered.
Re: A low profile network card that is actually low profile
Do you mean the card is Low Profile with a full size bracket?
Re: A low profile network card that is actually low profile
The ones that were sent have a full sized bracket so simply won't fit in a half height pci slot.
Dynamode make a low profile card with the right bracket http://www.dynamode.net/details.asp?id=78 , but the ones that scan sent aren't one of them. They are the standard ones http://www.dynamode.net/details.asp?id=77 .
I'm trying to find out whether if I order some again I will get the right ones or the full sized ones.
Re: A low profile network card that is actually low profile
I have just checked the stock they are low profile cards with full height brackets the stock we have does not have LP brackets with them.
If you contact support@dynamode.net I am sure they will send you out the LP brackets.
Regards

Thanks
In which case they are marked incorrectly on the website you might want to get that changed.
The two different models have different model numbers.
In the end the two cards you sent have come in useful, but I still need to find some half height ones. Will you ever be stocking the actual low profile ones?
I don't really want to buy some full height ones and hope the manufacturer will send out the brackets.
Re: A low profile network card that is actually low profile
The problem is the maufacturers state they are low profile because the have LP PCB's but come with full height brackets its stupid really as they will never fit in LP cases. I am checking with Dynamode to see if they will send us actual LP cards.

They don't mention low profile anywhere on the page for the model I actually received http://www.dynamode.net/details.asp?id=77
Unless they've sent you different info :)
Thanks for checking into it for me.
