item disappeared just before I could buy it!

Last night I was deciding on a new graphics card (documented in this thread in Hexus.hardware) & finally, at 1am, settled on the '256MB Gainward 8600GT SilentFX, PCI-E Mem 1400MHz GDDR3, GPU 540MHz, 32 Cores, DL DVI-I/D-Sub/HDMI' at £43.46 including VAT & with item number LN20808. It was in stock at 1am, but it was late so I decided to go to bed & make the order in the morning when I woke up. I went to check out at 11am to find that the card was out of stock & 'awaiting ETA from manufacturer' & by 7pm the card had completely disappeared from Scan's website!

What's going on? Is the card going to come back in stock, or is that it & I'll have to buy it from elsewhere?

It's cause and effect: 'cause you wanted it, it disappeared.

(I have the same problem ordering from a menu: whatever I choose is off).

LN20808 is now end of life I'm afraid and as such we will not be getting that card back into stock.

As such it was removed from the website once the final few cards we had were sold.

Luckily for me I just checked ebay to find somebody who mistakenly bought one (from Scan no less!) & was selling it new in box.

Next time I'm browsing at 1am I'm ordering then & there, not waiting 'til the morning!
