    Question Low profile CPU cooler?

I have a similar case to this and need a good low profile cooler for a socket 939 4200+ x2 - anybody got any recommendations? I was looking at the Scythe Shuriken but I can't see that Scan sell it.

It would also be a bonus if it could also be used on an AM+ as well as I'll be looking to upgrade in a few months time.

    Cheers

    Si

    Re: Low profile CPU cooloer?

    We have the following which is low profile, supports socket 939 as well as the AM2 socket and it is quite popular at the present time ;

    I hope this information helps

    Best Regards,

Yeah, I've seen that but not really keen on the idea of having two 60mm fans - in my experience silent small fans are rarely so.

Good value though and I am impressed with my current Arctic Cooler Freezer 64 Pro - just won't fit in the new case.

I've got one of these on one of my systems and it's pretty quite.

How about one of the Zalmans? Getting my ruler out it looks like the CNPS7500 will fit, or there's the CNPS8000?

Scan don't sell it, unfortunately... but the Scythe Shuriken is an excellent, low profile cooler, suitable for most chipsets

Measuring only 64mm in height, this cooler should have no problems fitting inside a low profile or media centre chassis.
Scythe Shuriken Quiet Low Profile CPU Cooler - £21.75
    Scythe Shuriken Quiet Low Profile CPU Cooler - £22.33 (+ £8.73 P&P!)
Scythe Shuriken Quiet Low Profile CPU Cooler - £23.44
Scythe Shuriken Quiet Low Profile CPU Cooler - £25.00

    Re: Low profile CPU cooler?

I've gone for a Zalman CNPS7500 which is a whole 1mm taller than the Shuriken, and about the same price.

The low profile Arctic Cooler was tempting, especially on price, but the thought of two extra 60mm fans in my nice quiet case niggled me.

    Re: Low profile CPU cooler?

This is the one I had, it was suprisingly, extremely good.

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=677389

Low profile and a big fan, it is silent, and really effecient! possibly not the lowest, LP cooler, but it should be small enough for the case you say you have.
