    esata/usb2/ mac expresscards

i posted something similar in the mac forum, but it looked a bit dead in there, so i thought i'd post here too

cut to the chase - i was looking at esata expresscards for my pc, and i see them at about £18, which is pretty decent, and i mentioned to my friend who has a mac, but apparently the mac ones they saw online somewhere cost a lot more. i was wondering if scan do any reasonably priced ones that work on macs. i'm not sure if the pc ones will work or not or if you just need the drivers, i don't know that much about mac's

i saw one that had one esata and one usb2 for example, and that would be perfect as the mac laptop only had usb1 and firewire 400 (so i presume that may help date the laptop model). i'm not sure even if it's expresscard or cardbus or pcmcia or whatever

anything better than firewire 400 would be a bonus, such as a USB2 card or firewire 800 card if the price is good (ie around £20 ish) as USB1 is no use for external hardrives

    thanks

As Scan are primarily a PC stockist, the only things sold there guaranteed to work on Macintosh systems would be the Corsair Memory I'm afraid. However you'd only need to find the model number of a card and hit up the manufacturers website in order to check if there were drivers available for OSX
