Thanks for the info Pete.... wow the i7s are hot!

Guess for hotter overclocks, the copper pulls ahead, but its probably still not worth almost triple the price!

Try IntelBurnTest. Heats up my system over 10C more than prime...

Re: He aint heavy.... he's my cooler!

You have to bare in mind the system i was testing in was for an audio review and that the was only 2 x 120 fans (front and back) that were also running at under 1000rpm as well as the fan on the heatsink. I was trying to get a silent system and pretty much suceeded thanks to this cooler as the system put out pretty much no noise at all. Most gaming systems will have far more cooling so won't see temptures as high as I was seeing but I'd pretty much say if you have the funds and wish for silent high performance p.c this will get you a long way towards it.

As you mention Sim if you just want a heatsink for a gaming rig which your not too fussy being a bit of a noisy one the's proberly far better solutions out there for a 3rd of the price. I still want one through.

I'll pull down that Intelburntest app in a min and have a play with it. Cheers for that mate.

Looks nice but even by overvolting and overclocking my CPU, running it on the lowest fan setting sees it get up to 60*C max. E6300 is just the best cpu evar
