The Qnap TS-209 Pro II is not what it seams

    Hi there,

I was looking for a new NAS device the replace my slow Intel SS4000-e. On Wednesday I went and purchased the Qnap TS-209 Pro II, mainly because I thought that you can upgrade the memory and this would help. Unfortunately; I was wrong, the box and the Qnap website says "Memory Upgrade Version !!!", which turns out to mean this model has more memory than the last one not this version is memory upgradable.

I contacted SCAN who Issued and RMA and will be sending it back next week, I have decided to replace it with the Synology DS209+ or maybe the Synology DS408.

I wonder if anyone got the DS209+ (or DS408) and I wonder what they think about it.

    Thanks

    Hi lxtwin,

What did you opt for in the end? I'm also about to go for a DS209+ and would like some user feedback.

    Thanks,
    Richard

    Hi mate,

I decided to build my own nas device, however I might later get the DS209+ as it looks lie a good box.
