Can you guys pass on some Feedback to HP ref the 2133 Web book pls?

    Hi Scan,

I got Sair one of these little wonders for Christmas and she is really really pleased.
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/89-HP...Vista-Business

It's a lovely little machine, and with Vista Business, 120 gig drive, 1280x768 res and a lovely lovely keyboard, it's a joy to use. Two USB, a VGA out, Bluetooth and really cracking little speakers, it was the right choice.

BUT..... it came pre-installed with som,e half arsed version of AOL that insisted on trying to load a page that was clearly unavailable, as we were not online at the time, and it did so SO FAST that Vista was un-useable.

So, on Christmas Day I was struggling with a freshly booted Vista, with a 1.2 gig processor, 1 gig of ram, and over 30 Internet Explorer windows... opening over and over again, popping to the fore, covering my attempts at uninstalling this bloody AOL software.

PLEASE SCAN...for the benefit of all other buyers of this little gem of a laptop... TELL HP TO PULL THEIR FINGERS OUT and check to see WHAT they pre install and whether it works!

Safe Mode, in hind site, would have speeded up my 45 minute battle.... but imagine my Mum or someother innocent, non PC literate punter with this issue on Christmas Day.. or any other day

Otherwise... can't rate this little gem highly enough

Zak, what are these things actually like?

I mean you have a little, review..kinda up there, but I mean, can you give more of an insight into these things?

I've been looking for something like this so I can just browse the web if I'm downstairs and not at my PC, something like this would be ideal.

    It's bloody fantastic mate.

Lovely screen, really really clear. Bluetooth included which works a treat for moving photo's from my mobile. Web browsing is just a doddle, the keyboard is amazing for typing.

Vista Business suits this litte beast. It performs 1000% better that I expected. Battery life is good, and the charger/power brick is not huge.

Sair is proper proper pleased with it. She pop's onto it while our little lad is playing in the living room, and hibernates it when he wants attention. The Fnction keys that most lap tops have (Volume, Brightness etc) are all here.

Frankly I'm proper jelous of it. I'd not hesitate to recomend it to you. But it's not simply for surfing. With a VGA output, it's ideal for presentations. And it fits a small bag, or the draw in the living room with the glossy magazines

I recently got a HP notebook and I was impressed with the screen and quality. Although the 1st thing I did was get rid of the clunky software that came free as its usually true what they say if its free theres got to either a catch or something wrong. TBH I think this kind of software is on most notebooks as a package. for example virus software which are trial versions which prompt you to buy the key online.

I do like the look of these little ones though

My MSI wind was surprisingly lacking in added junk, the in-laws just got a dell studio laptop bloody thing was full of it, and then a helpful friend added even more!! They had intermittent wifi drops, turned out the virgin wireless BB software was trying to take over from the vista stuff. Sisters Tosh had similar problems with added junk, never did figure out its wifi set up, bypassed it and used the vista inbuilt one that works 100%

Re: Can you guys pass on some Feedback to HP ref the 2133 Web book pls?

    cheers bud.

It's not a case of bloatware though, it's a case of software that made the laptop unuseable. With it installed, and trying to connect every second, with a new webpage pop up, had I left it, the open wondows would have exceeded 100, because it got to nearly 30 open, 3 times, while I shut them as soon as I could. even booting the thing down was imposible because the littlwe thing wouldn't respond to any inputs.

    Cheers Zak.

Sounds good and tempting, above that, it sounds ideal for my needs.

    Now, just money xD
