Re: Please help me to choose PCI-E graphic card
Hi, buying a new graphics card may not solve your problem.
I can't find your motherboard exactly, but the ASUS website shows these similar ones:
http://uk.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=3&l2=149&l3=642
Whether it's this one or this one though, they seem to both have VGA ports for the onboard graphics, so you could hook up your monitor to that and try it.
Or is that the problem...do you not have a current extra graphics card, and the on-board VGA isnt working? If so, make sure your monitor a) has a VGA (or D-SUB) input and b) it's set to display from that, rather than DVI.
Failing all that however this basic ATI 2350 is a ridiculously good purchase for under a tenner and would probably do what you want.
Re: Please help me to choose PCI-E graphic card
They do an ATi 2600 pro for about that, its a nice card but comes without DVi-A to VGA converter, if you need VGA connection budget for the adapter too.

thanks for your reply , the picture of motherboard similar like this pic below and not have onboard graphic . I tried plug everything in except graphic card and have no bip, then take out to put one by one to test still no luck. When power on , HD running , CPU fan running , So only 1 item I not sure is graphic card not know if it running as no beep and blank monitor , so I may need to buy new graphic card to test . If not work then the motherboard must be faulty . I bough on Jan Mix Bundle offer but still lie in the box because I not very well in the past to do, so only have time this week to install it but without success.
I tried few of my old graphic card but seem not compatible that made the mobo have no bip ? the slot is blue colour in my mobo , not brown colour : 1 x PCI-E x16

Re: Please help me to choose PCI-E graphic card
Hi, i'm guessing that English isn't your first language? Anyway i think i understand enough from what you wrote.
So what i dont understand is... how is the computer currently connected to the monitor?
You obviously do not have on-board graphics, which is fine, but you surely must have a current PCI-E graphics card? What sort is it?
Re: Please help me to choose PCI-E graphic card
Hi MSIC,
I am sorry my English is my 2nd language . Please forgive me I was not explain clearly .

that card is either an AGP or a PCI. It must be a PCI if you've got it plugged in... oh how I HOPE and PRAY it's not an AGP that somehow you've jammed in ;)
Re: Please help me to choose PCI-E graphic card
For referance, AGP looks like this:
http://www.global-b2b-network.com/di...T_AGP_TSOP.jpg
(not compatable with your motherboard, and will not fit. Forcing will cause damage)
PCI looks like this:
http://www.avtec.com/var/avtec/stora...iterbi_pci.jpg
(this works with the lower 4 white ports on your motherboard)
PCI-e *16 looks like this:
http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/pr...IeX16_Flat.jpg
(the top (black) slot on your motherboard)
PCI-e *1 looks like this:
http://www.tcmagazine.com/images/new...PCIe_x1_01.jpg
(the two white slots, between the PCI-e*16, and PCI slots on your motherboard)
Edited pic of your mobo:
http://i330.photobucket.com/albums/l...8/901668-a.jpg
The graphics card you tried looks like it is PCI, which is good, and would not have done any damage. From searching the internet it should look like this, or this (both PCI, and *should* work with your moutherboard):

Re: Please help me to choose PCI-E graphic card
As the others quite rightly said, what matters is the interface.
Will404 did a really nice job there.
You can buy any graphics card with a PCI-Express interface and it will work, but some (more powerful and more expensive) also require extra power.
The one i linked to at first, for £9 from Scan, will do the job you want.
Re: Please help me to choose PCI-E graphic card
I agreed , you all very good and helpful . I must say thank you all of you helping me to understand and learn more on this subject :) .
As MSIC recomending the one linked to at first, from Scan . I may going to order that one.
Once again , thank you all of you .
