    DVI to HDMI Adaptor

    Hi
Does anyone know if this adaptor will work on a ATI 3850 card. I am trying to get video and audio down the same cable to my HD tv. I know this adaptor comes in the box with the newer ATI cards but some people say for it to work you need the original ATI adaptor

    Thanks Guys

    Re: DVI to HDMI Adaptor

It should work as there is a standard pinout. I have a very similar one that outputs audio from my GTX260 to my TV, in fact it looks identicle, will check when I get home. If it does it for an Nvidia car it should do it for an ATI card

    Correct!

Now for the audio to be enabled (using a cheap DVI-HDMI adapter will just say "audio output disabled" or something like that) - you need the ATI REV-B adapter. Contact your graphics card manufacturer, I contacted Gigabyte direct and it took a while for it to come through, but I got it eventually.

The REV-B adapter is grey (the Revision A is Dark Grey/Black and only works for the 2xxx series).

You might be lucky to find one on ebay, otherwise I'd advise contacting your manufacturer

After that any cheap HDMI cable will carry the signal you want Just make sure the HDMI sound output is selected in Control Panel, and you have installed the Realtek HDMI sound drivers.

    Re: DVI to HDMI Adaptor

Thanks muddyfox470. I was hoping the one on scan would work as this would speed things up a little and save me having to get in touch with the card manufacturer. There are loads of them on eBay but they all look a bit cheap I have seen some original ATI adaptor on there but there wanting like 12 quid for them which i think is way over the top.
