I feel really sorry for SpungE now, not only is his item out of stock, but he has a Saracen MegaPost(TM)(R) to read
Think how awful it would be if Saracen started talking to himself
Haha. I read it. I'm not that upset anymore.
#eta; do I need a certain amount of posts to thank someone or am I missing a really obvious button?
Guss everyone is happy now.

Roger that.
You're not missing it, no. TakTak is right, it's 25 posts.
The official list (when I remember to update it) is in the FAQ.
Having said that, the thread TakTak referred to is better at keeping on top of it than I am, and I have been known to ....erm ..... update the official list in reaction to Funkstar's version. Not that I'd ever admit that, of course.

It's actually quite reassuring to read threads like this.
I'm quite new to Scan (3 orders) and the amount of effort they seem to put into customer service is beginning to turn me into something of a fanboy.

I'm glad I didn't cancel. Thank you for your service.
While I know this thread was not the best way to handle things it gave me a much needed vent and ended up as a nice public display of scans' customer care. So I don't really regret it.
Cheers Paul
Well, a couple of years ago I ordered some speakers from evil Overclockers.co.uk, and they showed in stock at the time. I got told they would be delayed by a week as they weren't in stock (they still showed in stock on the site). About 4 weeks later, I *still* hadn't received said speakers, and they had been showing in stock every day of those 4 weeks, it's about then I threatened to contact trading standards after being given at first lies, then being ignored! Magically they appeared within a couple of days after that threat.
It might make you yawn, but this has been going on for years and Scan have done how much to remedy it? Approximately sod all. We heard much about a new warehouse and how it was going to cure it all, but we still get threads like this on regular basis and fanboi come in and berate the OP. Shame.
It's this simple. Have a system that runs stock levels and another that takes sales orders. When an order is recieved, decrement the stock level. It really isn't rocket science yet Scan fail to accomplish this simple and frankly basic business operation.
Oh, and while we're on the subject, I can't think of another etailer that has told me in the evening that something I ordered that day is OOS. God knows I've spend enough with Scan and many other companys. Scan are the only one who do this and it's frankly just not good enough.
As someone who's ordered lots of components for a couple of PC builds through Scan now, this show of great customer care is excellent.
Keep it up scan - and enjoy your new PC SpungE!
As if you didn't need an incentive, if you stick around here and get enough quality posts, you'll qualify for free delivery with ScanAny longer and the least I would have expected was for the in stock items to be dispatched free of delivery
