Roccat Kone Problems, Anyone got this mouse?

My Roccat Kone arrived on thursday but I finally have to try it out this weekend. I just can't get it to work, I thought the problem was windows 7, so I tried in my laptop with vista 32 bit. Windows detects that there is a mouse but no responce. I installed the latest drivers and tried to update the firmware but no responce at all. I can see the drivers are running in the background but nothing happems when I plug it in except windows has deteced USB device.

Anyone have this mouse? Any problems getting it to work?

I assume you've tried restarting the machine(s) with the mouse plugged in so it can be recognised?

    It's 4.98*

Yeah I've restarted both machines about 20 times in total. Installed both driver versions from Roccats website and the ones that came on the CD.

I have this mouse.. I'm pretty sure it worked as soon as it was plugged in. The drivers provide all the extra snazzy features. Best mouse ever imo.

Did you have a old logitec mouse or similar, maybe you need to uninstall the drivers for that.

Try booting into safe mode. It should run there, if so, it's some existing software problem I guess.

    I'm running Vista 64.

It's a new build, I am using a 10 year old intellimouse at the moment, I started in safe mode in vista, still nothing. When I start the kone driver it tells me that I need a firmware update, but this fails time and time again. When I plug it into windows 7, it says the device has malfunctioned.

I was up until 0400 last night tring to get it to work, I think i've just been unlucky with a DOA mouse, going to RMA it.

Re: Roccat Kone Problems, Anyone got this mouse?

Just looked at this mouse, it looks very nice, I'm currently supporting a Logitech G5, its a very good mouse but I hate the material around the cord, and it's now starting to thread and pulls on the general untidy rubbish I keep on the desk. If you get another Roccat Kone, would be nice to hear what you think of it cause I'm not sure wether to go back to cordless or stay corded. Ta

PS Edit: tried looking but can't find any info if the cord is rubber or wrapped in material.

    Go to: Program Files\ROCCAT\Kone Mouse\64bit

    Then run DPInst.exe
