    NVIDIA Geforce 3D Vision Bundle - Samsung 2233RZ 22" LCD + NVIDIA GeForce 3D Vision G

Is it worth buying now or is this technology still at an early stage?

I’m very tempted to buy this also. I read a lot about it and thought the following things that might be useful to others:

The glasses charge from USB and last 40hrs per charge
The glasses can be adjusted to reduce eye strain (electronically on the actual glasses)
The glasses can be worn over existing glasses (if needed)

The 3D effect works best in games that have specifically been written to support the glasses. In older games you will get 3D, but it wont be as good an "experience".

If you get tired of the "3D stuff" the monitor apparently gives one of the best pictures for gaming (of any LCD monitor) even with the 3D turned off. Some people are buying the bundle just to get the monitor and don’t care about the 3D glasses (its that good).

(rumour) The price of the bundle has been deliberately set high initially (by manufacturer not Scan) and will fall in price over the next few months.

There are likely to be more 100Hz+ LCD monitors coming out in the next few months. They will all work with the 3D glasses, but at the moment you can only get the glasses by buying this bundle. Glasses will be available separately at some point in the future.

You will find the monitor for £1000 or more from many suppliers, this is because they list the monitor and glasses as separate products but (I believe) are compelled by the manufacturers to sell the glasses and monitor as a single bundled product. They set the monitor price massively high to discourage people from buying them and forcing them to split their bundles.

From the suppliers I have checked they are all selling this bundle for roughly the same price (I think the price may have been set by the manufacturer).

Not at Dabs they cant. Quoting from their website: "ONLY AVAILABLE AS A BUNDLE"

Anywhere that sells the glasses on their own, probably sells the monitor on its own too. My reply was explaining why some sites list the monitor as £1000+

Theres not much point buying the glasses on their own anyway, since theres only one LCD currently available that supports them. Theres a list of what you can use with the glasses on Nvidea's website, I dont believe the Viewsonic monitor has been released yet. If you have a 100Hz+ CRT its your lucky day, otherwise its a very expensive pair of sun glasses

Re: NVIDIA Geforce 3D Vision Bundle - Samsung 2233RZ 22" LCD + NVIDIA GeForce 3D Visi

Bought mine last friday from scan. The most impressive thing about the 3D is the built in demo from Nvidia, the logo really sticks out the screen a good foot and half. As for gaming, nothing really that impressive as yet, sure the depth of field is there, cross hair issue in games like COD4/5, L4D is ok for aiming and the 3D effect (depth again) is quite good. So far I haven't come across any games that give a decent pop out effect in any scenes.

If someone knows of any game that does provide quality 3D effects via these goggles then please let us know. I tried that Medusa rolling demo the other night and that was proper clear and impressive, part of the guys axe popped out the screen.

Overall not that impressed with the bundle, but I am sure that will change when and (if) games are optimised for the Nvidia 3D vission in some ways.

I don't know why Samsung did not design this with a HDMI connector?

I just saw this deal on HDUK.
Considering it's 100Hz, it should work with the glasses right?

    Uber massive display goodness!

You can use this technology with a standard Monitor, however the frequency of the screen would then be 60Hz, reducing your frame rates to 60fps. But when viewing through the Glasses this effectively halfs the frame rate to 30fps, which is not adequate.

Sorry to necro this thread, but.....

I'm considering one of these: http://www.trustedreviews.com/tvs/re...46in-LCD-TV/p1

for the lounge. The glasses should work OK with that if I decide to take a day off work and have a go right?
