Hi - just purchased the XFX XXX 5870 from your good selves and am getting the dreaded grey stripe crashes. I've done a bit of research and have found no conclusive fixes. I'm running 10.2 drivers.
Is this a software issue, or should I RMA the card ?

Society's to blame,
Or possibly Atari.
Software issue isn't it that should of been fixed in the 10.2 drivers although is still mentioned as being an issue in the same release notes...
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.
That's what it read as. I'll hang on to it for 10.3. I can still play ETQW and Shattered Horizon OK. It's L4D2 that's cactus.

Can't see it being mentioned as an ongoing issue....It states that it was fixed, that's all.

Bloody annoying - that's for sure lets hope 10.3 is better...
Interestingly - Got Vantage to work. Had to completely uninstall and get a new version.

I'll keep you posted.

Yes 2d is fine - but games can fall over at any point. Strangely shattered horizon seems to be OK, ETQW is wobbly and L4D2 crashes and burns every time.

It may be of some interest to you that theres a thread on Aria in relation to the same card and exhibiting the same problems - it appears even after RMA with Aria and getting a new card the problem persists.
Link.

Scan - please be aware that I will RMA this card with you if the 10.3 driver does not resolve the GSOD issue.
