Do you have an ETA on the ASUS 5850 as I have money to spend !!!!!!!!!!!!
I too asked this question. Got an email reply from Scan stating that
You can't find that gfx card anywhere! or any of a price close too this for that matter!Regarding the GPU, again, stock is low on all GPU's and HDD's this year and would advise that you consider a Sapphire or alternate brand where possible.
Thank you all for the information.
Will just have to keep looking then

The 5850's are in constraint at the moment but we are chasing all of the manufacturer's for ETA's, only XFX are able to supply us with the 5850 cards at the moment.
Best Regards
Thanks Chris P
Will keep checking back for updates
WTB Asus 5850 and/or ETA. Got cash. =D
I feel that these are being held up due to contraints on components needed to make motherboards and graphics cards. More information on this can be found at the link Here
As such, we are currently awaiting updates from the suppliers as to when items like this are going to arrive here at SCAN.
Best Regards,
Don't see why you'd specifically want to go for an Asus card, it's not as if they're high up on the quality list anyway. With the exception of the OEM negligible warranty brands like Powercolor and VTX, most of the 5850 brands are reasonably safe. I would have no issue with a card from XFX, Sapphire, MSI or Gigabyte, and you will notice that the XFX ones are in stock right now.
As for pauleden's comment, presumably dates back to the days when XFX only made nvidia stuff, during the era of the unreliable Geforce 8 series. XFX Radeons are solid, I am one of several people I know who own them, and none of us have had any issues. They're mostly over a year old too.
After a reference card and its pretty well known the Asus ones are exactly that.
Why pay more for a gfx card im going to OC? I would prefer to get it as cheap as possible. And you can't find cheaper than £189.99 (exvat).
The product images for the XFX cards do look as if they are also reference but dont know on that.. And apart from that they are ALL sold out. there is this mind..;

Pretty much all 5850s are reference. The only ones that aren't so far are the MSI Lightning, Sapphire Vapor-X and the Asus DirectCu ones. The XFX non-reference cards don't seem to be available in the UK. Besides, most non-reference coolers from decent brands are better than the stock coolers, it's only the cheapo powercolor/leadtek/gainward stuff that's worse. Cheapest in stock I've seen at the moment is Aria's Gigabyte at 195+VAT. That will be reference.
Hmm.. Where did you see this? The Aria Gigabyte
Coolers I'm not bothered about - Going WC.

Not sure if posting direct links to competitor's websites is allowed, so I can remove this if necessary
