Nice little Intel SSD, 4gig Corsair DDR3, a mammoth Xigmatek cooler, a 23" monitor, a free mouse mat and Win7 Retail.

1.8" or 2.5", you really should have checked before purchasing

We all know how big they are but when you get it, and hold it in your hand, it's still amusingly small.

Whether 1.8" or 2.5" it's not that big a deal. SATA port size is standarised so it shall fit.

Wrong, intel 1.8" drives use the micro sata power connector which is different.
