    XFX 5830 PCB length

Hi, just querying this for a friend. I noticed the XFX 5830 card has a picture showing a very short card compared to other 5830's. I've checked all reviews I can see, and they all show the XFX being a much longer card, like all the other 5830's, using the same pcb as the 5870. My question therefore is whether this card is genuinely a much shorter 5830 (even xfx site only shows longer cards) or whether it is, as expected, a very long card like all the other 5830's.

    Cheers for any info

[EDIT] Review on techreport suggests the smaller one was a PR photo and that the actual size of the released version is larger.

http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.ph...1&limitstart=3 that is the same card model number, it's just SCANs images being wrong yet again...

Yeah something odd about the size

Heres a link to the XFX site, maybe Scan are using an older pre-production pic or something??

If you use the Euro (en-gb) site, the first four images show the long card. The last (with box and AvP) has the image that scan is using with the shorter card.

    Re: XFX 5830 PCB length

As I understand it, XFX are to blame, they produced the image of the HD5830 by editing the picture of a 5750 to the characters 5830. The real 5830 is in fact 5870-ish length like all its rivals. Most sites don't update their images though, hence the Scan picture being misleading.

    Re: XFX 5830 PCB length

Cheers guys for info - he has gone and completely surprised me today when I got home from work and splashed out on a 5850, which being a little shorter, will fit fine in his case.

    Thanks again!
