    PC components recommendations

    Hi,

Looking to picking up a 1TB hard drive and 4gb ram for my MSI P55-GD65 &Core i5 750

HDD wise I am thinking of going for the Samsung F3. I doubt the F4's will come in 1TB size, maybe 1.3TB based on platter sizes.

RAM wise I can't make up my mind between the following two.

    CMX4GX3M2A1600C9 - 4GB (2x2GB) Corsair XMS3 DDR3 PC3-12800 (1600), Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 9-9-9-24, XMP, 1.65V LN28456

    TW3X4G1600C9D - 4GB (2x2GB) Corsair Dominator DDR3 PC3-12800 (1600), Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 9-9-9-24, DHX, 1.65v LN27736

    Which would you recommend ?

Also, I have seen the RAM listed twice. The second as 'new connector', what does that mean ?

    Thanks,

    Pav

    Re: PC components recommendations

Regarding the HDD the Samsung F3 is a solid choice, I have got one and they are fast (for a mechanical), cheap enough and quite reliable. And they are also readily available.

Regarding the RAM there is no much in between those two to be honest, I would go for the cheapest one of them.

    Re: PC components recommendations

If you want to run the RAM maxxed out or high voltage the dominators cooling will help you keep it stable.
Be aware the modules are taller so clearance may be an issue depending what case/cooler you have there.

The F3 is a fine drive, I have one as a boot drive too just make sure you get 7200rpm whatever you go for if it will be your boot drive. If its just storage then the rpm isnt so critical.
