Delayed order due to busy warehouse

Wow, been a while since I've had this sort of poor service from Scan. Have to say im surprised.

Ordered some items on Monday the 29th at 11am, estimated delivery Weds 31st.
    E2411224.
Email gets sent to me Tuesday 30th pm saying its been delayed due to 'high volumes' in the Warehouse.
No further info, no new eta, nothing.

So now I wont be receiving this order until next week at the earliest as it still hasn't been dispatched.
That will be over one week from date of ordering.
Very unfortunate as everyone in my house will be back at work and unable to receive the order anyway !!!!!

I appreciated its a busy time but a few things pop to mind here.
Why was the delivery day eta so wrong ?
And if you do get so busy at this time of year, why don't you plan for it so it doesn't so adversely effect your performance?
Why not tell customers before ordering you have no idea when you will ship your order or that the eta day will be out by 3+ days.
At least then we can make an informed choice before ordering !!

Re: Delayed order due to busy warehouse

You still have a chance of being dispatched tonight if you're lucky for it to arrive tomorrow. The christmas rush is pretty intense for most retailers, I ordered from another retailer on monday and they have only just now dispatched it due to heavy demand.

To be fair, unless you pay for a specific delivery date, they do state that all dates given are estimates..
