Faulty Logitech Mouse - exchange procedure?

I bought a Logitech G9x mouse about 9 months ago, and the left button almost always double-clicks when pressed once. The problem has been getting worse, and it's not a configuration/software issue, as my wife has an identical mouse, and when I swap them around, the problem follows the mouse. (I also checked it's not the on-board config.)

Unfortunately, my wife won't let me just swap mice! So could someone let me know what the procedure is to get the mouse exchanged under warranty? Do I do it through Logitech? I don't have a spare mouse, so my preference would be to buy the replacement first, and then have it credited once the faulty mouse has been processed.

    Regards,

    Michael

It would be worth trying via Logitech as they used to ship out a replacement first

In my experience Logitech are outstanding at replacing faulty components. As your mouse is well within warranty just use their contact form on the support website and it's likely that they will send you a direct replacement. Occasionally they request the faulty item back before doing this, but even so it's a worthwhile exercise.

My trusty MX518 started to develop a faulty left click after about 4 years (miles out of warranty), and when I contacted them they gave me a 50% off voucher for their store. Now the prices on there are usually RRPs but they had a sale on at the time. Long story short I got a brand new G500 for a tenner.

Another vote for contacting Logitech direct, they have outstanding cs. As mentioned above they may want you to send the faulty item back, but most often (in my experience anyway) they will just ask you to cut off the usb connection from the cable and send that.

Logitech when it comes to brands are about the best out there when it comes to things like this. Contact them almost guarantee you they'll deal with it in a positive manner. No I don't work for them, past experiences have taught me that.
