    MoBo advice (potential problem)

    I've got a Scan system. The MoBo is a IC7-Max3. Recently when starting from cold I've noticed that the Northbridge fan makes a kind of rattling sound, which lasts for around 1 minute. It then goes away, and doesn't happen again whilst the PC is on, which in my case can be for up 2 weeks. Sound I be concerned?, or is this OK. The system is around 6 months old.

    I would give the system support line a ring on the number that should be on your invoice. If you tell them your issue, they will say if its a problem and if anything needs replacing or repairing.

    Have you checked the fan to see if its connected to the northbridge correctly or is there any visable damage to the fan ?

    Once its running everything is fine, no noise...speeds OK and cooling effective. All the connections are fine...I did raised a Tech question on-line via the Scan web site on Sunday gone, but I have not seen a reply yet....Gave up on the support telecon after 45 minutes of nothing!!!!
