from what i've read else where it is also states that the default bios the Abit AV8 ships with does not support the Winchester chips, so when the pc posts the board doesn't know what to do with the chip thinks its overheating and shuts off!
Okay, My systems been running fine for about a year.
Until I plugged in a network cable. Now getting 9.F. code
Previous to this had ethernet disabled in bios (I disable everything not in use)
I'm wondering if there had been a fault on board since new.
I've not tried network again but now whenever power supply is disconnected you need to reset CMOS to be able to boot.
If computer is shutdown through windows and powered back up with power button seems ok for short periods of time.
