    Angry For free delivery

So as I cant see how many previous posts I have I am posting this. I have been a member on here since 2007. The only way I can get free delivery is to post an amount on here. why this makes me a better customer I do not know. I expect to spend about £15K with Scan this year, but will have to annoy folks on here in the hope of paying no carriage.
    Cheers.

    Re: For free delivery

I think its ultimately just to encourage community participation, better and more informed buying habits etc.

I like to think I got my 20 posts in a non spammy way, I'll admit I probably bordered on one or two posts but regardless of that I've enjoyed up joining in with the community more since then.

It also costs scan to provide free shipping ofcourse, if it was easy as simply registering then theyd lose a fair deal of profit.

You wouldn't be annoying people by posting, as long as you've voicing your opinion in a way that doesn't annoy anyone, or just adding to a discussion in general

    Re: For free delivery

If you have just arrived here to find out how to sign up for this offer then first of all you need to register with us here at the HEXUS.community.

You can do this by clicking Register for the HEXUS.Community.

With you all registered and logged into the site you are required to make 20 constructive posts before the system will allow you to register with Scan. You will now need to wait till midnight of the day when you reach 20 posts in order for the database at Scan to recognise your registration. So go off, have a cup of tea, eat some food, and come back and join in discussions here if you want, before getting some sleep, ready for the new day.

On the following day head on over to this page at Scan and fill in the required fields of the form to associate your account.

So, the few non constructive posts have been removed. Doesn't look like you'll be getting free shipping any time soon with a history like that !
    Cheers, David

    20 posts? Is that all?

Blimey, the 'other place' required over a thousand, I think, as well as a certain period of time served!

I've not even bothered looking about free shipping, if I'm honest...

Nothing quite so extreme, bit-tech appears to have exactly the same deal as we do here. AVForums only requires 14 days since registration, no post count, but their deal has been changed to £100 exc vat to qualify fairly recently, though its been dropped to £50 since I believe. I stumbled upon discussion about it the other day.

    It's always been the £50 ex VAT threshold as shown on the signup page ;

20 posts ain't that hard though on Hexus compared to some other forums. You lot here are a bit more friendlier than other places which also helps a lot as well

Heres the thread I stumbled upon the other day by accident: https://www.avforums.com/threads/the...808659/page-30
The reason the AV forums limit was increased to £100 was that we discovered 70% of orders were between £35 and £55 and we were losing money. Hence the increase.

This limit will be reviewed on a monthly basis.
Seems it went monthly for a while after that before sitting at £50 for a while and seemingly permanently. That thread is 2011 though so probably a bit outdated. I can't actually recall what I was searching for when I stumbled upon it now, but safe to assume the info on that thread is out of date. The thread was older than I realised however so probably shouldnt have said "recently" in my first post.

And agreed, I initally signed up here for the free shipping but its a nice community to stick around with, helpful too.
