And in the same breath I've returned an entire system (i took it to the store) and when I got home I had an e-mail saying the fault had been fixed and it was on its way back...people very rarely post the positive and just prefer to post the negative's...

And I'm fairly sure most CPU's ship with covers / decent protection so it would be somewhat difficult for the bins to get damage without some heavy damage being done to the box.

With regards to the "treat you as you are a complete dummy" - Wouldn't take it personally, it's probably easier and quicker for them to ask a set of standard questions, rather than just take someones word for it when it comes to trying to resolve things...

Re: Buyers beware of scan returns they take on average 6wks if your lucky

Of the items I've bought from Scan over the years I've had to return two things. One a case which someone had clearly had a go with and sent back - with mounting screws jammed in and scratches all over the mobo plate. They refunded it fine once they received it. Apparently that had been sent to Scan in that condition. (They no longer sell that brand after similar issues with quality) The second was a webcam where it didn't match the one I had ordered, and worse looked like a dog had chewed it. Again, refunded no issues. All the big-ticket purchases have been sent well packed and brand-new sealed etc. Now that is a few years ago, everything I've bought since has been fine - no need to return. The latest purchase was a HDD and my job next week is to finally install the thing.

I've returned two items to Scan this year, a motherboard and a CPU cooler. Both returns were resolved within about a week, iirc.

You'll have to take my word for it though, just as we'll take your word on your SEVERAL CLIENTS AT LEAST 20 CLIENTS.

Some people just have bad experiences unfortunately, I have had some returns that have gone really well with Scan and one that I wasn't at all happy with.

Best thing you can do OP is if you find you have had a bad experience and can't resolve it is go elsewhere. Amazon have excellent returns and generally give you your refund before the item has been sent back.

Re: Buyers beware of scan returns they take on average 6wks if your lucky

I've only had to return one item but had absolutely no problem doing so. The only fly in the ointment so far was a time when I ordered a bunch of things in anticipation of some leave I had around a weekend, so was hoping to be doing some tinkering over the weekend. Placed the order the night before, so the next day was anticipating a dispatch notification but didn't hear anything till the afternoon so I decided to give Scan a ring. Turned out a fan I wanted was out of stock despite it still showing in stock on the website and it would have delayed the dispatch. The guy on the phone was really helpful and started going through alternative 120mm fans. I was extremely grateful to him but also aware, he probably has a queue of other callers waiting; but he was nicely taking me through some alternatives and he seemed to know what I would be looking around given my initial choice, as I had also researched some of the fans he mentioned. I apologise to whoever else needed to contact customer support that day because we probably spent 5-10 minutes talking about fans.

The order got dispatched and I had a good weekend. I hope Scan aren't in a habit of chasing down call times and giving staff grief over it; I'm planning a revision to my PC soon and Scan is my store of choice, in no small part due to the excellent customer service I've had.

I've had problems with items from Scan.

    I still buy from them.

Only thing that "annoys" me is that even in the face of definite evidence of damage, they don't swap items, I have to return it and wait for a replacement.

To date, that's been one obviously bent GFX card and one Case that obviously took a forklift through the box and crushed the corner.

I usually return stuff directly to the store as it's not far for me to drive. Never really had any issues with exchanges or refunds though.... In fact I recently returned two Corsair K70 RGB keyboards in a row and they were exchanged quickly on the spot without issues. One had a few dead LED's and the other had a long deep scratch/crack in the base. I asked if they could open the replacement in front of me and check it before leaving the store and they were fine with that too .

I've been sent a couple of clearly used items from them in the past (quite a while back)... One was an NZXT Vulkan case and the other was a Corsair PSU.

yes there after sales service is just NOT THERE
if you signed for goods without checking and the goods are damaged then they say you signed so that is your fault if there damaged,
how can you check a mobo at the front door or a cpu, or a graphics card,
I just would NEVER recommend SCAN TO BUY A WASHER IN MY OPINION AND TELL MY CUSTOMERS TO STAY CLEAR
DO YOUR OWN REVIEW ON SCAN GOOGLE them and see for yourself
just make your own mind up????????????

I did a google on them as you suggest. Top result, 9/10 trust pilot based on 3164 reviews.

Scan, if you're reading, Tomthum recommends you don't buy any washers. I'm not sure why, nor if it will affect your core business, but presumably he's tyring to warn you that there is an imminent market crash in the price of washers looming. Be awkward to get lumbered with overpriced stock I guess!

That's punctuation, as in "eats, roots and leaves" and not strictly grammar

(The book, "Eats roots and leaves" by Lynne Truss is well worth reading!)

True, but the two need to go together to have any attempt at conveying the correct meaning. As Gonzo's footer: Capitalization is the difference between helping your Uncle Jack off a horse and helping your uncle jack off a horse.

    Similarly:
