Any reason why Scan-Amazon prices have recently jumped in being £5 to £10 more expensive per item than buying direct from Scan?

I thought that was pretty commonplace. Talking to a pet shop who does a lot of trade through Amazon the shopkeeper said they have to use Amazon to do enough trade to keep going, but Amazon take a massive percentage of what they sell through their store front, from memory I think it was 30%. If I buy something through Amazon's marketplace I usually try and track down a company's actual website as it is sometimes cheaper. Which is kind of inverting what high-street retail complain about, I look something up on Amazon and then go buy it cheaper elsewhere :D
I wouldn't be surprised if Scan aren't allowed to talk about the terms they have to agree to in order to sell through Amazon, so I wouldn't expect them to give you a straight answer.
Amazon used to price match and Scan motherboards for example were never £10 to £14 more expensive on Amazon , this has happened in the last couple of months or so.
The fees are actually astronomical - I'm amazed anyone can make a profit selling on Amazon:

So if you checkout from Scan using the Amazon payments option do you pay the Scan price or the Amazon price?
I try and use scan wherever possible, I've never really had bad customer service from them so sometimes it's worth paying a premium.
I wouldn't of thought Scan needed to sell on Amazon tbh at all, their company is plenty big enough. But I guess it's another place for people to possibly purchase or at least see the Scan name.
Has Scan support moved to a different forum as there was a time when you could ask a question and get a reply within an hour but threads now go unanswered for ages or just get ignored?
Hi Ice Tea
The replies from the users are spot on , its basically Amazon fees pushes up the selling price, as our margins are so low we have to compensate for the fees by selling at a higher price,

Ordering via www.scan.co.uk but just using the Amazon Pay button will still give you Scan pricing,
Best Regards
Thanks :)
