I purchased four Z170 motherboards in late 2015, all of which were DOA but I only returned one at the time as the intermittent/obscure nature of the other boards' faults took months to diagnose. I've subsequently sent the others back to Amazon and they've been refunded, no questions asked, but one of the four came from Scan - can anyone tell me what warranty period I have on a Gigabyte Z170-HD3P? Gigabyte's website seems not to say anything about warranty policy for motherboards, referring me to the retailer, but I'm hoping if Amazon offered 3 years for very similar products from the same manufacturer, that Scan would offer similar?
The intermittent fault with the board has only now become untenable now the board is starting to deteriorate with age, but there was an easily reproducible fault (faulty front USB header) from day 1. Would this be sufficient to get a return? Given my appalling experience with Z170 I'm of course keen to replace the hardware with current-gen kit instead, but if it means receiving a like-for-like replacement and ebaying that, then I'm prepared to do so.
