Followed HEXUS2SCAN guide, scan basket showed free delivery

Hello there, trying to pre order the AMD AM4 3300X (£100.00 plus). When I put it in my basket it says free delivery, when I go to checkout it adds delivery charge back. Can you please help? User ID is 21570.

When I go onto my scan profile it says: You have linked your account to the HEXUS free carriage offer. You will get free carriage on orders over £20.00 (excluding VAT) to uk mainland addresses only on selected carriage services.

    https://secure.scan.co.uk/aspnet/MyA...ecarriage.aspx
If I input my details, unsurprisingly it says: Your hexus account has already been associated with a scan account.

I updated my email address on both sites a few days ago and reconnected using the above link so it matches up.

I've established the problem is choosing to pay with PayPal rather than through the store.

Thanks for posting this oimi, it's very useful to know that paying by PayPal can cause this problem.

This is helpful to know, I tend to use PayPal as first choice.

Paypal seems to be my go to payment choice these days. Even when I'm using my credit card I do it through Paypal.

Feels like an added layer of consumer protection I guess

Be careful if you're a UK user and you spend £100+ via a credit card on PayPal; you might be losing consumer protections:

Do you actually get extra protection from paying through PayPal even if the funding source is a debit card from a separate company?

Re: Followed HEXUS2SCAN guide, scan basket showed free delivery

Day before yesterday I had the same issue where paying by PayPal added the delivery charge back on also. I only spotted it after I had paid though, called Scan Customer Services and spoke to a very nice lady who, because the order had already gone through couldn't refund the carriage charge. However she logged a ticket with their Finance team and I received my postage cost back yesterday via PayPal. Have to say considering the current circumstances I was very happy to get it resolved so quickly & without any fuss. Well done Scan!

This happened to me also, before christmas my PC started randomly shutting off while gaming. Did a ton of troubleshooting but without a spare PSU I wasn't getting anywhere so ordered a new one. When it was in basket it showed 0.00 for delivery but after PayPal checkout it had added the charge back in, sadly I didn't realise until after making payment.

Lucky, I spoke with them via the web note and further email correspondance but did not get the delivery charge refunded.
