    Free shipping issue linking accounts

    Hi there,

    I'm having the issue "Hexus account not found" when trying to link the accounts.

    The emails used for both are currently the same, but the Scan email was changed (to match the Hexus email) a few days ago.

    I'm not sure (having read the instructions a few times) if it is only important that the email addresses match _now_, or that they always matched and neither were ever changed (which would be a bit of a tough restriction!)

    Any help much appreciated. Ta.

    Are Scan checking these pages again yet or are they still on limited response due to covid lockdown etc?

    FYI in another thread someone had a similar issue and it was pointed out that the shipping is for active members on the forums. I see you joined in 2012 and have amassed a heady 23 posts in those 8 years. I'm not sure what consitutes active involvement in the forums these days but that might well be interpreted as a dormant account.

    That would be entirely fair enough, and Scan's delivery costs are quite reasonable anyhow.

    But the instructions/info don't mention any kind of required post count per year or posts/month or anything like that. So if it does require that, then really the info should be updated.

    Thanks. I read the linked post in its entirety and, to be honest, it doesn't clear much up at all

    It could refer to moderation practices (and I note that post was from 2008 as well). It could refer to some averaging of posts over the years of membership - but that would just encourage people to create fresh accounts.

    Anyway I emailed Scan so we'll see what happens

    Fresh accounts to the same names/emails and/or shipping address would be relatively easy to detect. Good luck with it but I wouldn't be surprised if they decline tbh.

    I have never seen anyone declined so you should be ok. People come here, post 20 posts then join up, so whether its 20 posts over 20 years or 20 posts in 20 seconds I very much doubt it would affect anything.

    Any Hexus staff view these threads?

    e: Scratch that, I've had a somewhat confusing series of email responses from Scan but finally it appears I don't have a linked account... I'm really not sure. Perhaps I should phone them instead.

    The trouble is nobody can tell me what the email I signed up with was, so I'm just on a wild goose chase here.

    The only solution might just to be creating a new Scan account and a new Hexus account because nobody seems to be able to tell me why they won't link together.

    Im gonna try giving linking ago in a couple of days once I have loitered around the forums for a bit. Will report if I have any issues to speak of when i do it.

    I don't think so? I didn't get anywhere emailing Scan. They couldn't seem to help me after I answered a bunch of questions. Just didn't have any record the accounts being linked. And yet I can't link them now because it keeps giving me the "account not found" response.

    tried today to link my accounts, followed the rules in the guide like waiting a day and whatnot but nope. I get the error message saying user account not found.
