Unhappy MSI P4N Diamond woe's. please help.

I bought this using qcollect and completed on 17 may 2005.
    Invoice is 000E517344

My problems is that this motherboard is really unstable and it doesn't work properly. Booting into windows the motherboard refuses to boot with a 1:1 setting. I use corsair pc5400UL that I also purchased from you and I was hoping to run it at 4:5 or 1:3 but it wont even run at 1:1.

If I load optimised defaults and boot into windows I get a 5:4 ratio and every time I turn the computer on I get a message saying "your pc has recovered from a serious error".
I checked the memory and have used 2 different pairs, but still the same problems.

Nobody else with this motherboard has this problem. I contacted MSI and they sent me a beta bios and I had no luck with that either still the same problem.

    Specs are

    P4 660
    xms2 1024mb pc5400ul
    6600gt
    msi p4n diamond
    1ide 80gb hd
    1sata 200gb hd
    cdrw
    dvd rom

Can I get a refund or in store credit and buy a different motherboard that doesn't give me issues?

All I want is a good motherboard and I thought I got that when I bought this seen as reviewers were all saying how good it was. Someone I know has a 630 processor and he has his P4N diamond working fine with 1:1 dividers and anything he sets it too.

What would you recommend I do?

The best thing to do is pop in and let the technical desk downstairs test and see if they can get the board running fine. If not then they could possibly swap it or give you a refund on it.

    Best Regards,

Thanks a lot everything sorted. The motherboard would lock as soon as you entered the bios.

    Thanks again.
