Why is it I have a funny feeling these speakers that have arrived from Scan today have been used before... (perhaps taken back and resold?)..

Could be the fact that the polystyrene is broken where it looks like somebody has tried to lift out the subwoofer.. & none of the plastic bags are sealed (have been opened..).. & the manual looks used.
That and you can see where the box has been opened a few times.

I'm not that bothered, it's just a bit miffing when you buy £47 worth of speakers and it feels like somebody has had them before you

If the packages were open then i would return the product without hesitation. Unless when you bought the speakers it was clearly stated that they were not new.

Well it's all definately been opened before..
but like I can be bothered returning them (carriage costs and so forth? .. inconvenience.. ) that and I want my speakers tonight .. not in about 2 weeks of faffing around.

You are not liable to pay for postage....you ordered a new product and you are still waiting for it.

It is up to the retailer to collect the speakers you have now and deliver the new set you ordered. It should be a simple case of the courier bringing the new set and taking the ones you have now away with him.

Check with trading standards if you are not convinced

Don't get me wrong i am not saying that the 'evil' retailers are out to get us all...but if you don't tell them they have made a mistake they will never know.

Who's to say Scan haven't just opened them to check they work or something.. (well, they could say that anyway)..

The fact I can't be bothered waiting still stands, been looking forward to using these speakers since Friday

Well if you read how I put it in the OP..
I was just mentioning it in passing.. sort of hinting at an explanation from a Scan staff poster... but also making clear that I'm not /that/ bothered about it (if they work, they work).. just curious.

Starburn - if you PM me the SCIL number from the sticker on the box I can trace the movements of this box and see if its moved at all from the warehouse.
