Re: SCAN2HEXUS : Recommend products to us :)
Tracers are nice too, but they were pricey. I went for the cheap G. skill ones.
But if getting crucial, I would rather get normal ballistix then tracers.
I love the green heatspreaders on one of the cheap G. Skill modules, but they arent that good a set.

These ones. I want those heatspreaders dammit, but the ram is plain average stuff :(
Link doesnt work so photobucketed.

Jeez, if you had had a clue where I worked you'd stop putting your big foot right in it. :stupid:
Where do you work?
If Scan and Overclockers have an agreement not to stock the same items because by cometing against each other it could erode their margins then I think coulkd indeed be called price fixing.

But yea, you'll need to look elsewhere for other ram. But If you want good corsair prices then here is usually a good place to look :)
The difference being that crucial sadly dont do a 4gb ballistix set, and their 2gb ballistix and tracer kits are now no longer using the nice clocking Micron d9 that everyone bought them for.....so the gskill set gives you 4gb in 2 sticks (far less strain on the mobo) and roughly equivalent clocking....
That said im going to carry on running my 2x1gb Ballistix tracers at 500fsb, 4-4-4-4, 100% stable with only 2.0v set in bios :D
It still really annoys me that scan only carry corsair....who lately have offered some frankly poor clocking ram at much to high a price tag....

Much as I'd love to tell you and make you look even MORE of a fool I cannot. Its not helpful if people in my position are seen on forums like this.
But, even ignoring that.... What evidence do you have (the answer is "NONE") that they have an agreement NOT to stock the same items? You think that they do but thats not the same. TS might make a phone call and ask Scan/OCUK why they don't stock XYZ but all the companies need answer is that they don't want to stock that product and thats the end of it. There is no evidence that distributors are refusing to sell to either company. All there is here is the derided ramblings of someone who is irritated because he cannot find two sources of the same product so he can choose the cheaper one.
Maybe those two companies DONT WANT to compete - there is no law that says they HAVE to. The only laws are against price fixing (ie agreeing a price for an item) but if they choose not to compete.
Oh hell I am repeating myself becauses it so damn obvious.
And finally, the reason Scan never comment on this is that apart from the Raja's (owners) no-one else is authorised to discuss this and much as employees have told me on the phone how they'd love to post here when people post crap they are not allowed to.
My advice, WJA, "Quit while you're behind!!!"
Re: SCAN2HEXUS : Recommend products to us :)
I need an account which is not associated with Scan :)

Is that true? Then maybe thats why they have gone so cheap now at overclockers.
These G. Skill HZ ones still use Micron D9, but they are too expensive at £70 a pair.

Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK
Dunno about cloths though. Just use an old rag or sock.
Re: SCAN2HEXUS : Recommend products to us :)

I just use toilet tissue with it to cleam my stuff. Good enough to sell it on ebay XD

Re: SCAN2HEXUS : Recommend products to us :)
Why dont you stock the Antec Quattro power supplies? The 850 especially.
or the Thermaltake Toughpower 750.?
I am finding your choice on value for money good quality psus very limited. I am trying to spec a system build and I would buy either of those. Its annoying you dont stock them.
Re: SCAN2HEXUS : Recommend products to us :)
try Xclio, i havent heard bad things about them and i have one. No problems yet.
Re: SCAN2HEXUS : Recommend products to us :)
Please please please, stock other ram apart from Corsair. Please!!! I don't want to buy from Overclockers ever again!!! :(
Re: SCAN2HEXUS : Recommend products to us :)
Woah, didn't reliase they sold the TIM remover. Would have saved me ALOT of time. Ah well, what's done is done.
However what about the tuniq tower 120? Prefrably with the LED fan :D. I want to order it within a month or so and the only place I can find it is overclockers.co.uk.
Re: SCAN2HEXUS : Recommend products to us :)
Well, they do have the whole Asus, Zalman and Scythe CPU cooler range, so thats not as bad as the ram :p
If they are allowed to stock different brands of PSU's on top of Corsair ones, why cant they stock different brands of ram?
Brand loyalty puts me futher off buying that brand, and Im not really very keen on corsair in the first place tbh.
