Stop it, stop it!
Ive spent a fortune with scan over the past fortnight, over a grand, however im not overly happy with the pc after going from a hyperthreaded intel to a 3200 single core.
Im trying to decide whether to plum for a X2 3800, or spend the extra on the 4400.
Its hooked up the top of the line asus board, 2gb ram, 7800GTX - would i see any real increases in games with the 4400 or should i just go for the 3800?
Ive recently found myself burning dvd's while unrarring and stuff and it cripples the pc, and with the processors on deal of the day, the switch card is getting dusted off in readyness :)

Hi,
Personal opinion, i doubt the Extra CPU power would benefit you in terms of increasing the performance of game play, i did something similar i went from a 2.8 to a 3.2 and i didnt see any increase, however i then exchanged for a GFX card of better spec and the difference was very noticable,
So MY answer to you question would be no , going from the 3800 to the 4400 wouldnt be of great benefit in terms of game play.

Ill go for the 3800 then, im happy enough with the performance of the 3200 in games, just general windows use im not too happy with.

pondered the same thing.. 3800 or 4400.. for the price diff, the 3800 definately seems 2 b the way 2 go (+ considering its oc'ing abilites )
and yea, single core sucks after using dual's.. cant ever go back now :D
