    Peeved At City-Link!

OK... i know its not your guys fault, you've never given me anything but excellent service.

The same cannot be said for Shi*ty-Stink, as i like to call them.

Over the years of ordering with you, City-Link have given me nothing but grief, and they've done it again.

I've been sitting in all day for this parcel, and nothing. Been checking the delivery on the website for the past hour, and suddenly THIS appears!

I've been sat in my room, which is virtually adjacent to the door for the whole day, and they say no-one was in! They have NOT left a card, and i'm left minus a parcel. No-one's going to be in tomorrow, so they'll just do the same again!
Plus, i've stuffed now, cos there's no-one at my local depot answering a phone.

    B*STARDS!

Same thing happened to me the last couple of times... On one occasion I even phoned citylink to arrange delivery and, as ever, no show.

Got to the point where I sometimes avoid using retailers who ship with them, to avoid the hassle.

I've removed the refference numbers for security reasons, but our CS team will look into this in the morning for you.

Sorry we can't do much at the moment, but rest-assured we will check into it.

Had exactly the same thing happen to me earlier this year, I'm self-employeed and work from home and they quite blatently didn't make an attempt to deliver the parcel, yet that's what the status said like yours. I phoned up the call-centre and said something along the lines of "I guess the guy wanted to get home for dinner", which the lady pretty much aknowledged without saying so directly They're obviously not going to put "Ran out of time to deliver" on the status though, so just stick that on there instead.

    Thanks David.

It just annoys me so much, because its like they just can't be arsed. 3 times this has happened to me now... And surely its just more hassle for them, as they have to deliver it tomorrow now!

I've had that a few times with City Link too.. funnily enough, a couple of the orders were from online stores who *guaranteed* next day delivery, else free delivery.. except there clause states its dependant on city link, who obviously claim they attempted :/

I think Citylink service depends on what your local depot is like. Over here in Suffolk it seems to be pretty good, always deliver next day and never had the problem noted in this thread. Also, I always get the same man on my road and he is a nice bloke.

Christ almightly, don't get me started on City Link. What an amazing bunch of muppets they are.

City Link are a compete joke. I have had nothing but problems over the years with them, no other delivery company have fluffed up so many times in such style. Twice they left sensitive equipment in the pouring rain and once they left the parcel 8 doors away and did not leave a card. When i phoned up they did not even know where which door number it was, only the surname. I had to go knocking on doors and I got my parcel 2 weeks later when the people who had looked after it got back from their holiday. Then there was the harddrive i recieved, which looked as if they had played football with it in the warehouse and was completely shocked.

However, i vowed never to use them again. But after the rave reviews i kept reading about Scan, i had to let it go and start ordering everything from Scan. I'm pleased to say that i have never had a problem with them when they have delivered for Scan and i am confident that Scans costomer service is so outstanding, any problems with be quickly sorted as they always are.

City Link may not be the best. but no delivery firm is perfect. And with it being free you really cant grumble. It wont stop me ordering from Scan. I'm not bothered who they use at Scan with those prices and the helpful peps on there 'ere forums

Ugh.... Trying to ring them now, do i get an answer from my local depot? Do i Hell!

    Their service is appauling.

I need to phone them up to deliver it to my workplace, not my house, because no-one's going to be in today.

They'll probably complain that they can't do that anyway even if i do get though.

They are a complete nightmare - I have made several orders with Scan and it has always been deleivered promptly, but never to the right address. They are always leaving stuff at neighbours (up to several doors away) yet never leave cards to say where its left. On one occasion I came out my front door to see a Citylink van just up the road. The driver came out of a house a couple of doors away and almost walked past me (as I was stood on my doorstep). I was expecting an order worth several hundred pounds from Scan at the time but he didn't come to me. It turned out later that he'd passed my order to my neighbour and told them I wasn't in? On another order from Scan being delivered to my sister it went to a unit 10 miles away. The driver got someone to sign for it but was adamant he'd taken it to the right address. I eventually went round all the industrial units before I found my sisters order.
